The Principals of NLK Associates have both been working as consultants to the world pulp and paper industry for 25 years. Their expertise lies in marketing and strategic analysis, including product substitution, image studies, competitor strategies, demand and price forecasting. Their services are available to individual clients as well as via multi-client reports and databases.
Richard Harris is a specialist in Paper and Graphic Arts markets, covering world markets for newsprint and printings and writings, including end use, media, printing and converting markets. Special interests include electronic media, business papers and technology, environmental issues and their impact on paper, including work on recycled papers, chlorine-free papers, secondary fibre and recycling.



Richard Cockram specialises in paper making raw materials, mainly chemical and chemi-mechanical market pulps, and works regularly for the major producers in Europe, North and South America and Asia. He produces a pulp price forecasting report every four months, monthly capacity databases and he has co-authored a multi-client report on BCTMP. 
The Principals have been associated for many years with NLK Consultants Inc of Vancouver and Montreal, Canada, though they have been financially independent since 2000. NLK Consultants was acquired by Jaakko Pöyry Group Oyj in December 2003 and the Vancouver company is now trading as Jaakko Pöyry NLK Inc. The Montreal company has been absorbed into Jaakko Pöyry ABGS Inc. Jaakko Pöyry NLK Inc is a company of consulting engineers, specialising in the worldwide pulp and paper industry.
